Clare Samani is an undergraduate student majoring in printmaking. She is a senior and in her last semester in CSULB. Furthermore, she said she is planning on taking her masters in Louisiana State Universiy. Her interest in art started when she was young. She told us a story that when she was little she would draw and paint with her dad all the time. When she got to college, she took her first printmaking class and fell in love. Therefore, she decided to major in printmaking.
Clare has always been intrigued with fashion and fascinated with what people wear. Furthermore, fashion is also a way of communication and expressing ourselves. It is also an artform that decorates our bodies. These decorations vary by each person and interests, therefore clothing has different colors, patterns, and material that can fit into specific characteristics and personalities.
In this exhibition, Clare wanted to symbolize the collaboration of people and clothing. In a way, clothing helps define the people and people helps explore their lives through clothing. Each piece she made were personalized and unique based on the person she drew inspiration from.
When I entered the gallery, I liked the exhibition immediately because of my interests in clothes. Her color palette was also striking and interesting. The artists was also very kind and patient with all of our questions as she thoughtfully and
